Greenyard is clearly focussing on plantbased. Earlier, the company acquiered the Belgian Crème de la Crème, a producer of dairy-free ice cream. Recently the media has been writing about Greenyard again, but this time about meat substitutes. ''We are going to approach it differently'', promises CEO Francis Kint.
Previously, the Belgian food concern aimed to accelerate growth in the category of plant-based frozen snacks and desserts with the acquisition of Crème de la Crème. The shift towards plant-based products becomes even clearer in an interview with ''De Tijd''. In the interview, CEO Francis Kint expresses high expectations for the development of meat substitutes. He also adds that meat substitutes are often highly processed.
According to the CEO, Greenyard will approach this differently. Kint reveals little about the planned developments, but mentions 'plenty of new ideas'. Greenyard may announce more news about the plans in a few months.
In the fiscal year 2023/24, Greenyard achieved a turnover of €5.1 billion and a net profit of €15.2 million. The company has 8,600 employees across 23 countries. Earlier this year, Francis Kint became the new CEO of Greenyard.
