The Australian milk supply continues to progress well. Production in July was above last year's level. The dairy factories have been producing above last year's level all year. The Australian milk season starts stronger in July. However, the milk supply in July remains below the average of recent years.
The milk supply in July was 579.44 million liters. The five-year average is 595.15 million liters. So, the milk supply in July this year is still below that.
The total milk supply so far is 4,337.34 million liters. Last year, it was 4,174.5 million liters up to July. In 2022, it was 4,237.6 million liters. In 2021, the milk supply up to July was significantly higher at 4,535.3 million liters, which also raises the average. If this year's milk supply continues as it is, it will break the annual declining trend.
So far, the milk supply in 2024 has been better, partly due to improved seasonal weather conditions. In July, the new season begins for Australia, which means a relatively good start for Australia.
