Bottom end adjusts on the potato market

To the satisfaction of many growers, it took quite a long time, but there is finally movement in the potato market. Both Viaverda/Fiwap from Belgium and RNM from France increased the quotation for Fontane to €20.

Last week, RNM was still at the bottom of the range as the average price. This week, they raised the top by €2.50 and the top price is also the price on the board. Hence the increase by €5 to €20. The range is actually €15 to €20. Innovator has also been raised from €21 to €25. Innovator thus neatly fits in the middle of the range, which ranges from €20 to €30.

In Belgium, the €15 disappeared and is now €20 as the top and bottom for Fontane and Challenger. "For later delivery, several buyers are proposing higher prices," Viaverda writes in the explanation of the quotation. Furthermore, Viaverda notes that there is still demand for exportable potatoes.
