The Netherlands stands out in DCA EU-4 Potato Index

February 24, 2025 - Jurphaas Lugtenburg

The potato prices in the EU-4 showed a price correction last week. Only the Dutch contribution stands out. Instead of putting a lower price on the table, PotatoNL increased it. What does this mean for the DCA EU-4 Potato Index?

Germany has been the leader in the Potato Index in recent months. Especially with the €40 for Innovator, Germany clearly set the tone for the fast-food varieties. Last Friday, Innovator tumbled down by €8 to €32 at Reka. Agria and Fontane also took a step back with €6 and €5, respectively. That €5, however, appeared more frequently. Fontane was also reduced by €5 in Belgium and France. PotatoNL showed an increase last week. This is mainly because the bottom has been raised from €27.50 to €30.

The DCA EU-4 Potato Index is €3.58 lower than last week at €28.95 per 100 kilos. While last week the contributions from all countries still started with a 3, now only the Netherlands still holds a 3. In fact, the Dutch contribution has increased by €1.18 to €34.31.
