FrieslandCampina rolls out red carpet further for farmers

June 13, 2024 - Klaas van der Horst

FrieslandCampina is rolling out the red carpet further for both existing members and new entrants. And that in a larger cooperative working area, as decided by the cooperative's members council.

According to an announcement, this involves a comprehensive package of arrangements. This package includes both renewed and new measures, such as the adjustment of the business takeover scheme, the extension of the milk volume scheme, the introduction of a quantity supplement, a temporary exemption from the entrance fee for new members, and an improvement of the liquidity position of member dairy farmers by converting fixed member bonds into free member bonds as of June 21, 2024.

In addition, it was decided to expand the cooperative working area in Belgium to include the whole of West and East Flanders. The recruitment of new members will also start there. The sustainability strategy was confirmed.

Groningen dairy farmer, LTO board member, and CRV chairman Wietse Duursma was appointed as a board member of the cooperative and as a member of the supervisory board of FrieslandCampina during the meeting.
