September 4, 2024 - By our team of market reporters

ForFarmers has entered into a pact in Germany in the field of animal feeds. The Dutch company announces today (Wednesday, September 4) to merge the feed activities in Germany with the company team agrar. With this step, ForFarmers and team agrar aim to gain market share faster in the German market to increase profitability.

The two companies are merging their feed activities in Germany into a joint venture, a joint company of which both partners own 50%. This joint venture is called ForFarmers team agrar and is active in supplying feeds to all major animal sectors. By joining forces, the companies have a better geographical coverage in Germany. They expect to better and more efficiently serve customers by sharing knowledge and expertise in procurement, formulation, and innovation. They also believe that with ForFarmers team agrar, they will tap into new opportunities in the German feed market to make more profit.

Already familiar with each other
ForFarmers and team agrar, part of the Danish supply giant DLG Group, are not strangers to each other. The companies already collaborated in another joint venture in Germany, named HaBeMa. This company is active in trade, handling and storage of raw materials, and production of compound feed in Hamburg. HaBeMa, where 130 employees are currently active, will also become part of the new joint venture. ForFarmers will bring in 250 employees with its feed activities, while team agrar has about 130 employees in feeds. ForFarmers team agrar will have a total of eight feed production locations, three terminals, and a fleet of vehicles.

Outside the joint venture agreement, the activities in Germany of the brands ForFarmers Thesing, Pavo, Reudink, CirQlar, and Vleuten, as well as the activities of the DLG Group in all other areas of agriculture, organic animal nutrition, the so-called Vilofoss activities (minerals), construction, and energy activities in Germany are not included. Besides compound feed production, team agrar is also active in grain collection and trade, supply of seeds, fertilizers, crop protection products, and farm supplies. Ernst Friedlaender, the current CEO of ForFarmers Germany, will become the managing director of the new company.
