The Pali Group, active in the livestock trade and meat sector, achieved a lower turnover last year than in 2023, but ended up with more profit. The lower turnover was partly due to the discontinuation of activities.
For example, the company announced last year in August that it stopped boning pigs at the location in Oss. Earlier, pig slaughtering in Geldrop had already been stopped. The subsidiary Pali Polska was also sold last year.
Partly as a result, the turnover decreased from almost €602 million in 2023 to over €546 million last year. The consolidated net result increased from €3.97 million to €5.3 million last year.
Due to the divestment of activities, the balance sheet also decreased by a small €27 million.
The Pali Group remains active in livestock trade, calf farming activities, and goat slaughtering. The company also remains active in the hide trade. In April, it was announced through the municipality of Oost-Gelre that the Pali Group is selling the Vitelco Leather location in Lichtenvoorde to the municipality.
The municipality intends to redevelop the Vitelco site for residential and other business activities. This also puts an end to discussions about odor nuisance and the like. However, a spokesperson for the Pali Group indicates that the company will not exit the hide trade. "The hides will continue to come. We are currently negotiating with a foreign company to jointly establish a different distribution chain for them."
